Aston Bay Holdings Ltd. has officially launched its summer field program at the Epworth sediment-hosted copper-silver-zinc-cobalt project, situated 80 km southeast of Kugluktuk, Nunavut. This initiative is set to concentrate on the southern portion of the property, where a 2024 Mobile MagnetoTelluric survey identified deep conductors reaching up to 900 m below the surface, alongside near-surface anomalies. These anomalies are believed to be potential traps for metal-bearing fluids within the Recluse Group shales.
The exploration efforts will also extend to the dolomites of the Lower Rocknest Formation and the clastic rocks of the Upper Odjick Formation, both of which are considered prospective for sediment-hosted copper mineralization. Preliminary mapping and prospecting activities have already uncovered multiple copper zones associated with the MT anomalies. The company plans to conduct further work over several high-priority areas in the upcoming weeks.
