Baselode Energy has commenced a 1,500-metre drill program at its Bear Uranium project located in the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. The program will consist of 6 to 8 drill holes strategically targeting 3 to 4 different areas of interest within the project. Field crews have already begun logistical support operations, with drill crews scheduled to arrive on-site within two weeks. The company is utilizing helicopter support to expedite drill targeting while minimizing environmental impact on the ground, demonstrating a commitment to responsible exploration practices.
The company has obtained all necessary permits to proceed with the program, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. CEO James Sykes emphasized the importance of this exploration initiative in advancing the company's understanding of the Bear project's potential. In preparation for the drilling campaign, Baselode Energy completed a low-altitude, high-resolution airborne radiometric and magnetic survey on the Bear project in March. While final results are still pending, the company expects to receive them prior to the commencement of the drill program, providing valuable geological insights for targeting and exploration planning.
Simultaneously, Baselode Energy provided updates on its Catharsis Project, where the company completed 11 drill holes totaling 2,837 meters across six different target areas. The exploration revealed encouraging signs of hydrothermal alteration and structures in two additional target areas, indicating potential mineralization. The company plans to release a detailed news release once all assay results have been received and interpreted, allowing for comprehensive analysis of the findings.
Complementing the drilling efforts at Catharsis, the company completed a low-altitude, high-resolution airborne radiometric and magnetic survey in April. This additional geological data will enhance the company's understanding of the project's potential and guide future exploration decisions. The Athabasca Basin remains one of the world's most significant uranium-producing regions, and Baselode Energy's continued exploration activities contribute to the ongoing assessment of the area's mineral potential. The company maintains its commitment to advancing exploration projects in the region while employing innovative techniques to identify and delineate high-potential mineralization targets.
